Are you looking for a new sweet and crunchy snack?! These chocolates peanut butter cups are IT guys! They have the best crunch to them and they are incredibly easy to make.

You only need 3 ingredients to prep these chocolate peanut butter cups and the crunch really goes a long way here. I love the salty sweet twist to them too with the peanut butter and crisp cereal.Wehad some leftover cereal from making rice krispie treats and wasn’t sure what to do with them (not my personal favorite bowl of cereal) so these dessert cups are IT!

I love that these are quick to make and they don’t melt easily. So you can also bring them on the go and snack on them whenever. I do keep mine in the freezer so they stay fresh longer and I just love them cold.

This is the type of recipe you want to make over and over again. And one both kids and adults love!

Tip: use your favorite chocolate chips here. A mix of dark chocolate and milk chocolate can be great. Or you can do semi-sweet or just dark chocolate.

How to make chocolate peanut butter crunch cups:

  1. Take out a silicone muffin tin or grease a regular muffin tin and set aside (silicone is better for this because the cups just pop out!)
  2. Melt chocolate chips in microwave or stovetop
  3. Mix in the peanut butter and stir together
  4. Add in cereal and mix well then fill each muffin cup with the chocolate mixture
  5. Add the tray to the freezer to set for about an hour if not longer then remove from muffin tray and enjoy!

FAQs on making these crunchy dessert cups:

  • Can you use any chocolate you want for these? Yes! Dark or milk chocolate can both work here. I prefer dark chocolate taste wise but do what you prefer.
  • How long do these stay good in the freezer for? About 2 months in the freezer but they never last that long here 🙂 They don’t melt easily so you can also keep in fridge as well.
  • Are these a good snack for kids? Yes! My toddlers love them and ask for them for dessert all the time. You can also add in any other mix-in’s like sprinkles too.

I made these out of the milk chocolate almond bark, Malt O Meal Cocoa Dino Bites and chunky peanut butter from Aldi. I already had some little Wilton baking cups. It made 41 pieces. A very inexpensive add to my Christmas candy with ingredients I already had on hand. They’re very tasty.

My grandson has to have gluten free and nut free. Can I use Lucky Charms with the marshmallows? What would I have to substitute for the peanut butter, if anything? He seldom gets to eat any desserts or junk food.

i personally wouldn’t as i’m not a huge lucky charms fan (and the ingredients aren’t too good!). sub tahini for the nut butter!

HELP!! I am making these with a twist because my grandson cannot have gluten. Using lucky charms cereal for the benefit of marshmallows. He also cannot have nuts. Do I need to add a substitute for the peanut butter? I want to make these today.

I made them just this morning, and we loved them! Used milk chocolate chips, crunchy peanut butter, and Great Value Rice Crisps cereal. One hint, if using a metal muffin tin (I used the mini ones – made 24), be sure to spray with Pam. They come out much easier.
