Perfecting her moves under the watchful eyes of her choreography team, the music megastar was straddling a chair in killer heels as she worked her magic on the stage, before leaning back in a sexy reclined position.

The intimate behind-the-scenes shots show just how much of a group collaboration the routine was between Beyonce and Jay-Z, with the loved-up couple seen sat in directors' chairs as they discussed the direction of the performance.

Meanwhile, a lighthearted snap showed Queen Bey giggling away with delight as one of her crew members was presented with a tasty box of cupcakes.

But while Beyonce looked thrilled to be in the presence of the sugary treats, it's unlikely she indulged in any, with the star sticking to a strict 22-day vegan fast in the run-up to the hotly-anticipated music event.

The singer is said to have lost an incredible 70lbs over the past six months after embarking on a vegetarian diet earlier this year before making the decision to try out the now famous 22-day vegan diet.

According to reports, Beyoncé and Jay Z were inspired to give the regime a go by her trainer Marco Borges.

A regular day's diet would see the couple have a plant-based breakfast and a smoothie made of vegetables for lunch, with snacks on offer including cucumber and edamame beans.

Beyoncé combined the diet with a rigorous exercise regime, which saw her and Marco increase the amount of dancing and running sessions she did in a week, as well as up her visits to the gym.

But it certainly wasn't simply the star's svelte shape that raised eyebrows at the Grammys.

Beyonce and Jay-Z's five-minute long erotic tribute to their relationship, Drunk In Love, caused a stir thanks to his explicit lyrics, rather raunchy routine of bumping and grinding, and of course the singer's choice of black thong and sheer bodysuit as a costume.

But the racy performance drew plenty of comment online with viewers complaining the performance was too racy for its 5pm screening slot in New York, and 8pm in Los Angeles.

Pensive: The star appeared to be deep in thought as she watched one of the rehearsals take place

Viewer Katie Stapp wrote: 'Come on people!! Yeah Beyoncé has an amazing voice but that outfit?!?!?Completely no class. Give children something to look up to #absurd.'

While Theresa Bailey commented: 'Beyonce seriously? It's 8:00. That performance was NOT appropriate for children. Thank God mine are in bed. #shameonyou.'

In spite of their criticism, it was a night of success for the superstar couple, with Jay Z taking home the Grammy for Best/Rap Song Collaboration for his track Holy Grail, featuring Justin Timberlake.

Jam session: The singer was seen warming up as her choreographers and vocal assistants sat around her casually

Queen Bey: Naturally, Beyonce had her own personalised chair for the occasion

Turning heads: Beyonce and Jay Z's rendition of Drunk In Love was undoubtedly the most hotly-anticipated performance of the 2014 Grammy Awards
