Blueberry Cobbler is one of my favorite blueberry desserts. It certainly tops the list for delicious 3 ingredient recipes that everyone loves. This cobbler recipe is super easy too.

Do you love blueberries? They are a huge favorite in this house. Which is probably why I have so many blueberry recipes here.

We can’t seem to get enough. They are the flavor I think about most when it comes time for spring & summer.

That fresh flavor that blends so well with so many others, like lemon, lime or coconut. It’s all good & I’m thrilled to make as many blueberry recipes as I can.

Here are some commonly asked questions

Can I use another flavor of cake mix?

Yes, absolutely, that will work just fine. I have used white, yellow, and even chocolate when I didn’t have a box of vanilla.

Can this be made with another type of fruit?

Yes, you can make this with other berries, we love making this with blackberries from our garden each summer.

Can this be made with canned fruit?

I have not tried it with canned berries, like a pie filling. But I have made this with canned peaches (drained) and that turned out fantastic.

3-Ingredient Blueberry Cobbler (5)

I added a scoop of fresh homemade coconut ice cream on the side. (more on that soon) But for now, pick up some blueberries next time you are grocery shopping & make some delicious cobbler.

How many can this serve?

This recipe makes about 8 servings, depending on your portion sizes. It is enough for our family of 5, leaving some for the kids the next evening.

Can this recipe be doubled?

I don’t advise doubling in the same pan as that would drastically change the baking time. However, you should be able to fit 2 casserole dishes side-by-side in the oven, so you could just make two if this recipe isn’t enough.

HOW DO YOU MAKE Blueberry Cobbler?

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Lightly spray 9×13 baking dish with cooking spray.
  3. Spread berries in an even layer over the bottom of the pan.
  4. Add the dry cake mix over the top.
  5. Slowly pour the soda over the top of the cake mix, making sure you moisten nearly all of the dry mix. This will give you your crust.
  6. DO NOT STIR – if you stir you will have a top more like cake- not crust.
  7. Bake 45-60 minutes watching closely after the 45 min mark – allow it to brown on top.
  8. If you want it really brown you can broil the top for a couple minutes.
  9. Remove & allow to cool slightly before serving.
  10. We prefer ours with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream on top.

What is the best way to store leftover cobbler?

I like to cover the dish and keep it in the refrigerator. Since this recipe is best when warm, just serve into a microwave-safe bowl or plate and microwave for 1-2 minutes or until hot.

Can this be made with frozen blueberries?

Yes, you absolutely can make this with frozen blueberries. Either way, it doesn’t matter and you don’t even have to thaw them ahead of the prep process.

To make Blueberry Cobbler you will need…

Blueberry Cobbler : Just 3 Ingredients

Course Dessert

Servings: 8 servings

Blueberry Cobbleris one of my favorite blueberry desserts. It certainly tops the list for delicious 3 ingredient recipes that everyone loves. This cobbler recipe is super easy too.

Prep Time 5 minutes mins

Cook Time 1 hour hr

Total Time 1 hour hr 5 minutes mins

Ingredients

  • 3 cups fresh blueberries
  • 1 box french vanilla cake mix
  • 16 ounces clear soda (such as Sprite or 7-up)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

  • Lightly spray a 9×13 baking dish with cooking spray.

  • Spread the berries in an even layer over bottom of the pan.

  • Add the dry cake mix over the top.

  • Slowly pour soda over the top of the cake mix, making sure you moisten nearly all of the dry mix which will give you your crust.

  • DO NOT STIR – if you stir you will have a top more like cake- not crust.

  • Bake 45-60 minutes watching closely after the 45 min mark – allow it to brown on top.

  • If you want it really brown you can broil the top for a couple minutes.

  • Remove & allow to cool slightly before serving.

  • We prefer ours with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream on top

Notes

The soda should cover most of the cake mix – but I’ll often take a fork and push down any cake mix that doesn’t soak up into the soda so there aren’t any dry spots -but generally there shouldn’t be a lot.

The final result for the cobbler will be the baked bubbling berries on the bottom and the crusty cake mix layer on top. If you were to mix it up prior to baking, it would end up baking more like a cake, rather than a cobbler. It won’t be like a pie – because we aren’t adding a crust on the bottom – just berries and the topping.
